Welcome to -Ice's guide for the new DCS A10 pilot! While I am a firm believer that RTFM! Is not always an appropriate response to a query, I must admit that for a simulation such as DCS A10, a bit of reading is required if nothing but to aid the instructor in teaching the student.

- Discussion primarily focuses on DCS: World and BMS. This is not a full on reprimand-you-for-having-your-navigation-lights-on-when-you-shouldn't-have type outfit here. You'll find we foster a laid back atmosphere to learn how to work the various modules available in DCS.
- This is a short video guide on what weapons in DCS A-10C do what. There are quite a large number of ordinances to choose from, and this guide aims to make it nice and simple.Correction: The CBU.

1 year agoAlright boys, I am finally going to do it. I am going to sit down and learn the A-10C in its entirety. A little background on me: I started flying DCS in May of 2014 and DCS was my first flight sim ever. Checking my ED order history, I purchased the A-10C module on 6/14/2014. Since then, I haven’t clicked a single switch inside the cockpit (to my recollection). I’ve sat in the cockpit a few times for the training missions and I’ve always said “Fuck this” before ever really making any progress whatsoever. Truth be told, the only plane I’ve ever flown besides the Eagle is the Frogfoot and that was only because that is what was required for the 104th’s UPT videos to apply for the squadron…that was back in October of 2014 and I haven’t sat in that cockpit a single time since I finished the videos necessary.
Disclaimer: I did take 2.5 years off from flying due to my professional life becoming very time consuming, but as of 1.5-2 months ago I am back in action…so I haven’t been sitting on my hands for a whole 3.5 years like it appears. Only like 1.5 years haha
In preparation for the Harrier, Hornet and Tomcat, I want to knock out a complete “learning” of the Warthog. As such, I come to you today to ask this simple question: If you only had one resource to recommend to a noob trying to learn the A-10C, what would it be?

Yes, I am aware there are archived threads that discuss this, but some of those are dated and new material has been released. I want answers as things stand today. And yes, I will be flying in-person in co-op on MP servers once I am serviceable/knowledgeable enough to not be a complete liability. Autocad brick hatch pattern downloads. I just need some stuff to help get me off the ground before I put that burden on others.

I currently have Chuck’s PDF guide and Bunyap’s YouTube video series, what else am I missing? Should I swap one (or both) of these out for a different, more beneficial, resource?
